The Ton’s 3rd Anniversary Release Blog Hop

Hi everyone! Welcome to The Ton's 3rd Anniversary week long celebration! For this release, Effie has released 23 new stamp designs, coordinating dies and 9 new couture mixes! And, I for one think this is pretty amazing release. I can't pick just 1 favorite! I have several. Hah!

This time, we are doing the hop a bit different. Instead of just a day of hop, we have several days of blog hop with many amazing guest designer line up. Starting today all the way to January 26, join us for a fun blog hop filled with fun projects.

I made 3 cards for today. Let's start with the pretty Coming Up Daisies set. This was my first time playing with Ken Oliver's Color Burst. On this card, you can see the intensity of the color compare to the card that I made yesterday (which I diluted a lot). As someone that used to neat line, I have to learn to just let it go, let the color spread and go where they want.

I start by stamping and heat embossing the flowers. Then I wet the cardstock and carefully sprinkle the various color powder and move the carstock around to let the color move. For embellishment I added some mix size dew drop.

Next is my favorite card that I made for this release using The Peony Notes Bundles combined with Seriously Amazing Sentiments and the previously release Basic Labels.

This is such a neat  bundle! And, I love, love the large bold sentiment. Last but not least, is a pretty clean and simple card using Large Floral Daisy set. I will be playing more with this set. I got the matching dies this week & haven't got a chance to play with it, but I am excited to create more cards with this pretty set.

The Ton’s 3rd Anniversary Release - Day 3

Hi peeps and welcome to day 2 of The Ton's 3rd Anniversary Release. To celebrae, Effie has released 23 new stamp designs, coordinating dies and 9 new couture mixes!

For today, I want to highlight the free sets that you can obtain with purchase. First up is a card I made using Peony Notes Bundles. This bundle feature an array of stamps that enable you to stamp layered floral clusters effortlessly because each layer of the florals are combined into a single easy to stamp cluster. Peony Notes A + B are two 6×8 stamp sets that feature the actual floral clusters and foliage stamps. Peony Notes C is also a 6×8 set which features a large solid background stamp allowing you to stamp the negative areas around the floral cluster.

My 2nd card is made using the Daisy Duet set. I have asked Effie a while back to do daisy stamp and am so excited when I found out that they're coming out at this release. I love daisy and they're the flowers on my wedding bouquet. :)

For this card I am playing with Ken Oliver's Color Burst. This is only the second time I am using the Color Burst and am still struggling at sprinkling the color at very small amount. Trust me, you only need very little as the colors are pretty intense. I had to add lots of water and lots of dabbing to soften the color  (tomorrow, I'll have a card that show the more intense color). I finish the card with some sequins mix from the new Lilac Blossoms couture mix.

There are two new gifts with purchases that you can obtain with this new release. *This promotion does not apply to prior purchases. The threshold amount is calculated before taxes and shipping. For my 1st card I used the beautiful Peony Bouquet set. Colored it with Copic markers and then add sentiment from The Most Interesting Cardmaker 2.0. This set is filled with some really fun sentiments!

My 2nd card is using one of my favorite sets from this release, the Timeless Peonies Print and the Seriously Amazing Sentiments set. I first stamped the layered flower background and then stamped and heat embossed the sentiment with The Ton Rose Gold embossing powder.

There are two new gifts with purchases that you can obtain with this new release. *This promotion does not apply to prior purchases. The threshold amount is calculated before taxes and shipping. The Ton’s 3rd Anniversary Release - Day 1

Hi everyone and welcome to The Ton's 3rd Anniversary Release. For this anniversary celebration, Effie has released 23 new stamp designs, coordinating dies and 9 new couture mixes!

Today, we are introducing Fresh Cut Daisies (Layered + Outlines), Large Florals: Daisy, Seriously Amazing, Coming Up Daisies, Buildable Woodgrain, Riotous Wildflowers, Winter Cardinal, Bold General Word Greeting Dies and Bold Amazing Word Greeting Dies (all links will go live on 1/19/2018).

And introducing 3 new couture mix.
Mix 1: Pink Blossoms
Mix 2: Lilac Blossoms
Mix 3: Mint Sugar

My 1st card is featuring the Winter Cardinal. Did you know that Cardinal comes in many colors? I learned this while searching for color ideas that there are many variety of Cardinal. I love learning something new from just searching for inspiration. :) For the sentiment I used the thank you from Occasion Confetti set.

For my 2nd card, I played with Riotous Wildflowers set. I have this set of Aladine Izink Pigment inks that just been sitting on my shelves and I decided to give it a try. I used the yellow & the red and the colors are pretty intense. I diluted the red quite a bit. Didn't do that with the yellow. I find them to be a bit harder to blend, but then again this is my 1st time trying them, so I probably just need more practice. For the softer yellow, I used Zig Clean Brush.

There are two new gifts with purchases that you can obtain with this new release. *This promotion does not apply to prior purchases. The threshold amount is calculated before taxes and shipping. Floral Hello

Hi peeps. How's it going? I am bundling up as the cold weather hitting Houston area. Although, compare to those that get snowed in, I really have nothing to complain about. I am just whiny when it's cold. LOL.

Well, I want to pop in real quick to share this hello card I made for Honey Bee Stamps.

Fun fact, when I first get started in stamping, I found flower stamps to be intimidating. I tend to to stick to cute critters stamps. And, now, I couldn't imagine not working with flower sets. Flower sets tend to catch my eyes right away (I still love cute critters as well). This Honey Bee Hello Gorgeous set is one of my favorite from their collection.

This flower sure makes me wish for spring weather to be here. Well, that's all from me today. May your day starts off wonderfully.

Seasons Giving Blog Hop

Hi'ya everyone! Happy 2018!! I would like to wish you all a very happy New Year and may this year be a blessed, fantastic year for all of us filled with good health, prosperity and great things that makes you happy.

Welcome to the 6th annual Seasons Givings Blog Hop. What's fun & unique about this hop is every single blog that participate has giveaways. So, grab your cup of coffee and browse around. Stick around and you'll see my giveaways on the bottom of  my post. :) And, big thank you to my dear friend, Latisha Yoast who organize this hop.

2017 had been quite an eventful year for me. Creativity wise, I continue designing for SugarPea Designs, The Ton Stamps & Purple Onion Designs. In July, I get to join Honey Bee Stamps team and also guest designing for Altenew and Concord & 9th. I am very blessed that I get to work with great companies. Caring Hearts Card Drive have another successful year as we collected about 44,000 cards and send hundreds of card packages to nursing homes throughout the US, Canada and Australia.

Personally, 2017 was also a big year. We started building our new home in January and moved in in August. My husband is a builder and he's built hundreds of houses for others and after all this year, he finally able to build for us. So very grateful for this blessing. Then came Harvey. Thankfully we were spared from any damage. It sure was nerve wrecking watching the water rise. I also get to meet up with my whole family in Japan!! Including my li'l niece who I am so happy to spend time with. It's been a few years since I get to see my whole family together and it's a blessing to be able to vacation together. On top of that, my mom get to come back with us and she stayed here for about 2 months.

My motto for 2018? Same as last year. The best is yet to come and to live life to the fullest. It's pretty much my motto for life. I also want to learn new stuff. I think it's always good to learn something new.

Now, as we started the new  year, I look back and want to share my top 6 favorite project from 2017. Let's get on with it right away, shall we?

I guess you could see that I love working with flowers and cute image. :)

Advent Calendar Extravaganza With Taheerah Atchia

Hi peeps. Today I am excited to join my friend Taheera’s annual event, the advent calendar extravaganza. I always look forward to being part of this fun event and designed a fun, adorable card, and I hope you will love it. :)

Advent Calendar Extravaganza is the festive event of the season! This ‘hop with a twist’ was dreamed up by Taheerah Atchia and features surprise destinations each day! Joining in the fun with Taheerah are ONE HUNDRED special guests – each serving up some fantastic Christmas inspiration! Just like an Advent Calendar, you’ll never know where you’re going to be visiting next until you ‘open the door’!

With 25 *amazing* sponsors taking part as guests as well, your crafty wish list is bound to get a boost with a chance to win a prize EVERY SINGLE DAY!!

For my card today, I played with one of my favorite all time Christmas set from SugarPea Designs, the GingerSnaps set.

To start, I watercolor a piece of watercolor cardstock with Ranger distress ink. Once it dry, I used it with the Harlequin Cover Plate and adhere all the diamonds to the card base. To make sure they all stay lined up perfectly, I simply use the harlequin frame as my guide.

To create the tag, I used For You Tag. Again, I used watercolor cardstock for this to keep the same soft tone like the background. Adhere to card. Follow by stamping & die cutting the Gingerbread fellas. I couldn't resist this grumpy one. ;) Finish by adding the die cut bow (it comes with the For You Tag dies) and some sequins.

Now, it’s not a party without a prize - and with prizes every day there are several chances to win! Today’s prize is generously supplied by SugarPea Designs, who I have the privilege to design for for the past few years. SugarPea is well known for its cute stamps, so you’ll definitely want to win! Simply leave a comment on this post - then head back to taheerah-atchia.com and leave a comment there too! You must leave a comment on Taheerah’s blog as well as mine in order to be eligible to win! Don’t forget to grab the other surprise destinations from Taheerah’s blog and head over to them to leave comments there as well to improve your odds even more! You have until 23:59 EST on 31st December 2017 to enter.

Don’t forget Advent Calendar Extravaganza runs from 1st-25th December inclusive so make sure you visit taheerah-atchia.com every day for fabulous inspiration and amazing prizes every single time! Merry Christmas!

Caring Hearts Notes

Hi everyone. I just want to share a couple thank you note that our volunteers have received in the mail for Caring Hearts cards. Your cards truly brighten someone's day. <3

Another one also included this note that just made my day. From one of the girl that helped hand delivered these cards to the nursing home, Lisa Jelenic wrote this on my FB wall:

"Hi Vera, just wanted to share a thank you card with you and all the ladies I received in the mail today. I gave your letter with your address to all three nursing homes. My son came along to carry the boxes for me. Before we left I explained the reason why we were doing this. After we were all finished he said mom this is a really nice thing you did. I said it’s a nice thing we did! I said we’re an extremely small piece of the puzzle, you have no idea how many people made this possible. I also showed him pictures of your dining room, the ladies packing all the boxes and explained that all those cards came from a few different countries. I can tell he was taking it all in, lol. He said mom we should do this every year, I said yes we will. "

I love that Lisa's little boy enjoy the activity of giving & want to do it again. How wonderful it is to have Caring Hearts as part of someone's family Christmas tradition. I know a few people who made this an annual event with their kids and that brings me joy.

Thank you all for caring & for sharing your craftiness. Much love to you all.

Vera
